Key for Map.
Key for Map.

In my image I chose, it shows some southern states, including Georgia and their surveillance throughout the states. There are many different types of surveillance in the section I chose with body-worn cameras being the most widespread throughout the United States and video analytics being the least. In the text from Carnegie, they state that the main forms of surveillance are being used for smart policing and having safe cities, with China being the main exporters of AI (Feldstein). With China being the main exporter, there is a question about the safety of these surveillance systems and who actually has access to all of the surveillance that tracks us. I think the AI system that is the most concerning for me is facial recognition. For example, with many of us having iPhones, we use facial recognition multiple times a day and there is another security concern within that considering how many times we use it, it could be tracking us unknowingly throughout the day. As we see in the picture, there are many different facial recognition systems throughout the southeast United States, but in the article, they mention that in China, protests have begun against AI and its facial tracking as there are many ethical concerns around it (Feldstein).

Hi Skyla. I only see a copy of the prompt. Did you perhaps do the assignment and forget to post it?
